Colour reads differently at scale
A four-inch sample and a forty-foot elevation are not the same thing. The greys go warmer, the movement gets busier, and the piece you loved in the showroom can look completely different on a gable in flat winter light.
Dye lots vary
Manufactured stone is coloured through the mix, and lots shift. Buying the whole job at once from one lot is the difference between a wall that reads as one material and a wall with a seam you can never stop seeing.
Corners drive the budget
Corner pieces are sold by the linear foot, not the square foot, and they cost more. Returns, columns and window surrounds add up fast — it’s the number most people miss until the quote lands.
So we keep full sample boards on the showroom floor and let you take pieces home. Bring us your square footage and your corner count and we’ll quote it the way we’d quote it for a mason — flats, corners and accessories, itemised, no surprises at the counter.

Mortar-set or screw-on?
This decides more about your budget and your timeline than the stone itself does — and it is the question most people have never been asked. There are two ways stone gets onto a wall, and we stock both.
Mortar-setMortar-set — the traditional way
A mason builds up lath and a scratch coat, then beds each piece in mortar, one at a time.

- Needs a mason, and needs the weather — mortar work stops once it gets near freezing
- More labour, so more cost and more days on site

Screw-onScrew-on — mechanically fastened panels
Stone comes as panels with a built-in flange. They screw straight to the sheathing, course by course, like siding.

- Limited to the profiles made as panels, so a smaller range to choose from

Stone questions, answered
Natural stone veneer is quarried stone cut thin. Manufactured stone veneer is cast from moulds taken off real stone and coloured through the mix. Natural gives you genuine variation and weight; manufactured is lighter, easier on a budget, faster to install, and comes in far more colours. We carry both, and the honest answer for most projects is that once it's on the wall, very few people can tell — so it usually comes down to budget and the look you're after.
Mortar-set is the traditional method: a mason builds up lath and a scratch coat, then beds each piece in mortar. Screw-on — mechanically fastened — comes as panels with a built-in flange that screw straight to the sheathing, like siding. Screw-on is faster, cheaper to install, can be done by a carpenter or a confident homeowner, and can go on in cold weather when mortar work has to stop. Mortar-set gives you the full range of stone and lets a mason cut pieces to fit around anything. We stock both, and which one suits you usually comes down to who is installing it, the season, and the budget.
Screw-on panel systems can — there is no mortar to cure, so cold is not the obstacle it is for traditional work. Mortar-set stone is a different story: mortar needs temperatures above roughly 5°C to cure properly, so that work generally stops for the season. Yes, when it's installed properly. The stone itself is freeze-thaw rated; what fails is almost always the wall behind it — missing drainage plane, no weep screed, or mortar work done in the cold. That's why we're picky about who we recommend for installation and why we'll walk you through the assembly before you buy.
It depends on the brand, the profile and how much corner you have, so we quote per project rather than quoting a number that turns out to be wrong. Bring us your square footage and your linear feet of outside corners and we'll give you a real number the same way we'd quote it for a contractor. Corner pieces are moulded or cut differently and cost more per piece than flats, so they're sold by the linear foot rather than the square foot. A house with a lot of returns, columns and window surrounds can carry a surprising amount of corner. It's the single biggest reason a stone quote comes in above what someone expected, so we'd rather show you the split up front.
